Description:

Florfenicol Oral Solution is an synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic drug that is effective against most Gram-

positive and Gram-negative bacteria in cows, poultry and pigs.

It is indicated for respiratory infections, gastrointestinal tract infections, and urinary tract infections,

including illnesses like pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, colibacillosis, and pasteurellosis.

Florfenicol, a fluorinated derivative of chloramphenicol, acts by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosomal

level and is bacteriostatic.

 

Antibiotic therapy continues to play an important role in the control of mastitis in dairy cows. Lactational therapy is effective against Streptococcus agalactiae but less successful against infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and other causes of mastitis. As a result, treatment strategies have been developed one of them is intramammary infusion.
